I am getting ready to finish up the names of God I have been doing with my students. I still have a couple weeks left but I have been praying and thinking about what to do next. My kids have so many great questions I decided to take a Bible story time and see what they wanted to learn about next. I explained to them that I wanted to know what they wanted to know. I was a little bit unsure as to how well this would go over. But I asked them anyways what their questions were. I didn't expect the response I got. Hands flew up around the room. I could not write as fast as they asked them. They had some GREAT questions. I am going to start answering them during our Bible story time when we finish God's names. I would love to get some of your answers to share with them. Not all of them are the easiest questions... which is great! I am glad they are thinking about these things!
From the mouths of children:
1)How powerful is God?
2) What does He look like?
3) How do prayer requests come to life?
(haha, I love the way Ethan asked that)
4) How does God listen to so many voices at once and answer mostly all of them?
5) How does God see us all at the same time?
6) How did Jesus get born if He created everything?
7) How did God make earth?
8) How did people look at Jesus' face if you can't look at God's face?
(we talked about how the glory of God is so spectacular that when Moses asked to see it God hid him and only allowed him to see His back because He would die otherwise)
9) How does the devil have so much power?
10) How was the devil created?
11) Why did God create the devil if He knew what he was going to do?
12) What is a Christian?
13) Why did He make the world?
14) Why did He make us?
15) Why does He let us hurt ourselves?
Whoa... I have no idea where to even start. They are some tough questions. I love that they are so real. I don't know that I was thinking about these things at their age. You don't have to answer all of them. Really you don't have to answer any of them. But I wanted to share them with you and see what you thought.
