I'm here, I'm here, I'm here! Flying into Reno yesterday was quite an experience. Everything was so white and beautiful from up in the plane... I was pretty excited at the prospect of living in this world of white. And after being here a day I am still excited! Last night we celebrated the new year at one of the ski resorts in the area. Fireworks, flamethrowers, folk music and fun pretty much sums it up. Four other members of my team are here and two more will be joining us by the end of next week. We have played in the snow and walked to the lake... two of the most important things to do in Tahoe :)
This morning I woke up and looked out the window where to my surprise it was SNOWING! Seriously, I was shocked. It just hadn't occurred to me that it could snow. Haha, call me a Georgia girl.
I just love looking out at the snow. It fills me with wonder and awe. I am sure there may come a time while I am here, that I get tired of the snow but for now, I love it. The way that it changes the world around me reminds me that God is in everything... even the little things.
I am loving my team. For those of you praying their names are: Sarah, Chelsea, Kim, Peter, Crystal, and Megan. I have not met Crystal and Megan yet but they will be here soon. Pray for unity and for a willingness not only to serve this community but a willingness to serve each other.
That's all for now,
your Sojourner
